Three
Windmills
Three windmills
standing proud and high
Against the
deep blue summer sky,
Evoke for me a
quiet Age
When silent
arms would turn and wave.
No cars on
motorways rushed by,
No jetting
aeroplanes could fly,
No ships or
barges carrying oil
Would marine
life and seas despoil.
Carbon monoxide
was quite rare,
Our lungs were
safe - we breathed fresh air,
The greenhouse
effect was far away,
But progress
was now on the way!
It seems to me
the windmills say,
"You'll need
our help again one day,
When men who
simply do not care,
Have damaged
Earth beyond repair.
