The sky is grey with
storm clouds,
The lightening bright,
the thunder loud,
The rain is swiftly
beating down,
Faster now with a
drumming sound,
As though to wash the
world away,
And so begins another
day -
Matching my mood for
I'm depressed,
You are not here, I am
distressed.
Your sky is blue, the
sun is strong,
Happy and clear the
loud birdsong,
No breeze or wind to
cool the day,
Your summer reigns - so
far away.
Does the weather match
your mood -
Happy and carefree,
feeling good?
I wish you every joy
today,
But warn that winter's
on its way.
I do not wish you black
storm clouds,
I do not wish you
driving rain,
I do not wish you acute
heartache
Nor love's severe,
relentless pain.
I wish you only joy and
love,
Happiness and blue
skies above.
But if justice exists
anywhere,
Then one day soon I'll
cease to care,
And once again the sun
will shine,
True happiness again be
mine,
Here summer will return
again,
Your skies then black
and full of rain.
