Sonnet Two

Constant is love, like Venus, evening star,
A shining beacon that will never change,
And even a great distance cannot mar
Its brightness which will always be in range.
A mighty ocean wave, it soars so high,
Its surging power calms the swirling mind,
Later it flows, gently with softest sigh,
And ripples home to find its own true kind.
No one can stop the forceful warmth of love,
Unyielding as it sweeps towards it goal,
And like the summer sun which glows above,
It penetrates with radiant heat the soul.
Without love, life would be as black as night,
A desolate continuum without light.
