Sonnet to Sarah

In June this year a baby girl was born,
delighted parents welcoming her birth,
what joy she brought on that auspicious morn,
when her family welcomed her to Earth.
Stay well and prosper Sarah all your life,
may happiness continually shine on you,
we pray that you will not know grief or strife,
be successful in everything you do.
Life can be hard so we must do our best
to improve everything in our power,
so study hard, learn everything with zest
and you will blossom like a summer flower.
So smile, dear Sarah, for we wish you well
and Fate will favour you, I now foretell.
