Deep down, dark down

in a secret place within,

many feelings are entwined,

swirling, jostling, falling

to the recesses of my mind.

each tries to surface,

to dominate and win.

love, pain, wistful longing,

confusion, disbelief,

hide behind the smiling face

which will never find relief.
