I wish that you were here
to share the island's magic charm,
its timeless mountains,
deep blue sea,
tranquillity and calm.

One of nature's precious sites,
set in the blue Aegean,
oleanders, palms, and cypresses
colour the verdant landscape;
the air is filled with song.

Scent of jasmine wafts
on the balmy evening breeze,
as a surreptitious sadness,
with a sense of deją-vu,
creeps to infiltrate deep within
as my thoughts drift to you.

I wish that you were here
