Thank You Lord



In the day I thank you Lord
for flowers, trees, birds that soar,
the everchanging sky above
your warm encompassing love.

When I breathe the bracing air,
I know you are around me and you care
for every person here on earth
from the first day of their birth.

At night I view the stars so bright
glowing with scintillating light
a million points of brilliance
speak of your power and eminence.

I thank you for my being too
for the enjoyment of the things you do,
your kindness in my daily life,
my true support assuaging strife.

Accept your humble daughter's toast,
dear Father Son and Holy Ghost,
I thank you for being here
and providing all I hold most dear.
