Dreaming
You kindled a fire - you made it start, Then fanned the flames within my heart. The fire of love began to burn, We had a lesson soon to learn. We could not guess, conceive or gauge, How fast our mutual love would rage. The strength at which my fire grew, Well matched the fire in your heart too. Fire is hot, its destructive wrath, Can scorch all others in its path. You felt the price too high to pay, Searched deeply for the words to say, To quell the fire, to make it fade - Extinguishing what you had made. It will though realize our worst fears, This fire will smoulder on for years.
