Distant Friends
a Kyrielle sonnet
I walk along under skies of blue
where ocean waves splash and roar,
sea birds dive with raucous screech,
above deserted golden sand.
A chill is in the springtime air,
as my thoughts return again to you.
Are there shimmering stars above the bay,
does moonlight play across the land?
Here wakeful doves now softly coo
and rise to greet the morning sun,
while nocturnal splendours you can view
as you walk along the floodlit beach.
Our friendship remains for ever true,
'though distant - never out of reach.
Thank You For Being My Friend!
