The Dell
Strands of sunlight pierce through the trees,
Orchids sway in a gentle breeze,
And gradually I slow my pace,
In this magic, shaded place.
The summer sun has risen high,
Suspended in a sapphire sky,
The air is warm - no birds sing,
A rippling stream is murmuring.
Time hangs suspended in this dell
The woodland weaves her ageless spell,
And for a while my worries cease
Vanquished by this timeless peace.
