The Silver Box

My love gave me a silver box

encrusted with fine jewels,

The keepsake with it's ornate key

The envy of all who see.

As I fall asleep at night

I watch the moonlight play

moving soft caressing fingers

Across the box and key,

The colours yield and sparkle

then join to coalesce

forming an image of my love

kissed by each bright moonbeam.

With loving thoughts I fall asleep

And longingly I dream.
