Autumn to
Winter
Against a canvas of deep
blue,
autumn pains now her wondrous
hues,
red and yellow, orange and
gold,
flaming colours hang rich and
bold.
Like a myriad
butterflies, fluttering, falling through
the air
leaves float down and a carpet
make
rich tapestry around the
lake.
Soon lonely arms are stretching
high,
skeletal fingers scrape the
sky,
regal trees which denuded
stand,
await spring in a barren
land.
