THE ASH
TREE
Majestic Ash
reaching high,
Stretching up
towards the sky,
Delicate leaves
with glossy sheen,
Enormous
branches outwards lean.
Swaying cloud
of luscious green
Quivering
gently in the breeze,
Stately vision
in summer gown,
Impressive tree
of great renown.
Transient home for many birds
Flying in from
foreign lands,
Protects and
shelters those who roam
To this
delightful, summer home.
Most beautiful
of all our trees
Continues to
delight and please,
For a while all
worries cease
My soul is
filled with inner peace.
